James (Jim) Ritchey

President/Co-Founder

jim_ritcheyJim Ritchey is a co-founder of Delta Initiative and has served as its President since 2003. Mr. Ritchey has over 25 years of business and leadership experience. His strength is building business value through the effective implementation of business strategy and targeted use of technology. Mr. Ritchey demonstrates his extensive leadership experience in helping organizations, focus on managing and improving operations while improving the connection between technology and business. Organizations in various industries including distribution, software, and higher education, have benefitted from his extensive experience building agile organizations by combining employees and outside recruits to improve delivery on their strategies.

In his role with Delta Initiative, Mr. Ritchey has advised and provided assistance to a number of organizations. Most recently Mr. Ritchey assisted a large client (100,000+ students) with their ERP selection. In addition, he assisted the client by managing the very successful ERP implementation. He has assisted several higher education organizations with: organizational effectiveness, ERP solution selection and implementations, IT Strategy, online learning strategy, major technology assessments and reviews, CRM strategies/implementations and the turnaround of problem projects. Jim has been conducting workshops and presenting to industry groups on the state of ERP technology and the emergence of CRM in higher education. In addition, Mr. Ritchey has served as Interim CIO at DeVry Inc. and at Colorado Community College System (CCCS). While in the CIO role at CCCS, he assisted in the turnaround of major projects, identifying and recruiting the permanent CIO. Previously, he served as interim CIO at DeVry Inc. helping DeVry University reinvent its technology organization while assisting in the search for the new CIO.

Prior to co-founding Delta Initiative Mr. Ritchey was President and COO of Indeliq, the leading provider of Performance Simulation technology started by Accenture in 2000. As President/COO, he led the effort to integrate Indeliq into the Accenture Learning organization. He managed the company to profitability after two straight years of losses. He was also Vice President of Technology and Operations for Indeliq, leading the technology effort to create the SPS product, a software package used to create and run performance simulations, as well as being responsible for internal and website operations. Prior to Indeliq, as VP of Technology – Grainger Internet Commerce, Mr. Ritchey was responsible for all technical areas, including architecture, application development, deployment, operations, security and network for the award-winning site Grainger.com and OrderZone.com. During his tenure, sales experienced a tremendous annual growth of over 400%. With a solid foundation in technology as well as business leadership, Mr. Ritchey has the right stuff to deliver success.
